Careers: Telecom Billing Analyst
Job Summary
The Telecom Billing Analyst position involves data collection and analysis of client telecom billing information to determine baseline cost factors, compliance with existing services contracts, and cost savings analysis. The analyst position consists of performing audits to ensuring billing accuracy for a defined technical service type, specific vendor, or defined group of accounts. The audit process combines automated and manual processes to identify billing errors and optimization opportunities, which are addressed, tracked and resolved by the Analyst. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong analytical skills; will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications. This candidate would also possess knowledge of telecom terms and has had similar experience working previously with telecom-related billing.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and vendors.
- Analyze and audit telecom invoices using both automated and manual approaches to identify errors and dispute with carrier
- Use knowledge of telecom networks and common configurations to identify incorrect billing elements and erroneous charges in voice and data.
- Prepare dispute claims and complete documentation to communicate results to internal and external users.
- Summarize contracts and billing to easily understandable reports.
- Work with analysts and Order Specialists to ensure that client needs and requirements are being met
- Participate in internal and client-facing meetings, prepare reports and presentations, create custom reports as requested.
- Meet established timelines for regular client reporting.
- Perform all duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in telecommunications, preferred
- Broad knowledge of various telecommunication products and services.
- It will be desirable that this candidate would also possess knowledge of telecom terms and familiar with telecom tariff plans /offers and has had similar experience working previously.
- Understanding of telecom technology and/or billing systems; prefer previous experience with telecom contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, desired proficiency with Excel and MS Access specifically.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoy working in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in math and working with numbers.
- Ability to multi-task and have the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong time-management and organization skills.
