Implementation Methodology
Most organizations seek telecom expense management (TEM) solutions based on their ability to deliver both immediate and lasting dividends through cost savings and process improvements. Critical to achieving a quick ROI with a TEM solution is a fast, successful implementation. MBG’s approach to the implementation of TEM is grounded in years of experience developing technology solutions to solve challenging business issues.
MBG has created a four step process that ties into the business drivers behind telecom expense management. With this proven approach, payback from MBG’s telecom expense management solutions can be measured in weeks versus years. Each stage address different issues, although the timing of these stages often overlap during deployment.
- Discovery and Analysis – this is the initial phase where business requirements are validated and a Scope of Work document is created for project planning. An audit of the current process is typically included, as well as a determination of key resources that will be involved in the project
- Design – after appropriate requirements are validated, the MBG team will begin configuring the TEM solutions utilized to align with the client’s internal processes. This will include establishing data hierarchies and interfaces to other internal applications.
- Implement – four to six weeks into the engagement the first operational data starts to flow into the application. Various tests are conducted by MBG for accuracy of information, along with documentation to assure that vendors are forwarding all necessary data.
- Operate – the final stage of implementation involves processing the first invoice, establishing the first payment cycle, and confirming the accuracy of vendor feeds. Upon achieving an accuracy rate of 95% or greater of incoming invoices, this phase will then transition into a full production mode.
