MBG's New Telemanagement Suite Helps Companies Improve Management of Telecom Changes

New capabilities focus on managing telecom mergers, IT convergence; emerging technologies; also provides Microsoft .NET scalability and enhanced mediation support

NEW YORK, NY. – March 29, 2005 – MBG, Inc, a leading telemanagement provider, today unveiled its new 5.0 Enterprise Telemanagement Solutions Suite, a comprehensive telemanagement offering optimized to help companies better manage the massive technical and commercial changes occurring throughout the telecommunications industry.

“With telecom mergers, IT convergence and unrelenting pressure to reduce costs and boost productivity, companies are working to maximize their telecom investments, said MBG founder and President Michael B. Greenspan. “Our new Telemanagement Suite is specifically designed to address that goal.”

"Version 5.0 of our Enterprise Telemanagement Solutions Suite builds on our 15 years of telecom billing experience and expertise. It provides all the necessary capabilities that both carriers and companies need in order to make management of telecommunications a strategic asset. These services are required to help organizations implement better controls, improve service and reduce costs,” Greenspan says.

"Telecom acquisition, provisioning and management is a challenge for IT and business units,” says Eric Goodness of Gartner Research. “The transition of telecom expense management to a growing field of capable providers will benefit all size businesses.”

MBG's 5.0 Enterprise Telemanagement suite including Provisioning, Inventory, Invoice Processing and Corporate Chargeback solutions, seamlessly integrates with other corporate general ledger and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, facilitating total enterprise spend and consumption management. With telecommunications representing the third largest non-payroll expense for most companies, the ability to incorporate telecom financial data into enterprise accounting systems is essential for financial transparency and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

The new 5.0 suite is built on the industry standard Microsoft .NET platform, providing a robust and scalable foundation for extending comprehensive telecommunications expense management solutions across an organization’s enterprise infrastructure without costly and time-consuming integration efforts.

"The ability to control and ultimately reduce telecom costs through MBG’s telemanagement applications is a competitive advantage for us,” says Donald Smith, director of IT, network, and technology for MetLife. “With the peer-to-peer analysis capabilities we have with MBG's chargeback and invoice presentation solutions, we can quickly identify areas where telecom spending is higher for particular business units or individuals, and empower department managers to more tightly manage those areas or justify why business conditions warrant differences in spend across peer departments.”

Today companies must be able to identify billing discrepancies against contract terms across the multiple carriers that provide services on a global basis. They also need to expand telemanagement capabilities to include new developments like VoIP, wireless and broad band telephony and mobile users. Additional new 5.0 features increase end-user productivity by enabling companies to assemble information regardless of the source and validate contracts by running exception reports to detect billing and usage errors. Companies can then automatically and seamlessly mediate erroneous charges with their carrier.

The new 5.0 suite also enables companies to perform consumption management by analyzing usage of telecom and IT resources in a variety of ways – by type of resource, by department or by individual user. By monitoring and analyzing consumption, companies can zero in on cost savings through better utilization of existing resources. Throughout the 5.0 suite, telemanagement functions perform faster and with enhanced navigational and search capabilities.

"Doing more with less is a corporate imperative these days and these new features reflect our ongoing goal of helping our customers manage and streamline their telecommunications through improved processes,” says Greenspan. “This latest version enables them to connect with the entire enterprise, incorporating telemanagement information into corporate spend management systems, dramatically increasing the productivity of telecom managers and their companies.”
